NEC PC Engine
The tiny grey import only PC Engine was still going and with the Arcade Card upgrade it meant you could play some pretty good versions of Neo-Geo games and the amazing looking Dracula X from Konami.
Sega Megadrive/Genesis
The Megadrive was (and still is) a powerhouse console and even though it was six years old since its 1988 Japanese debut it was still going strong especially in Europe and the United States.
The Megadrive 2 was the only version available new at retail but hey we love the originals style (hence the pic) and still play some of the awesome Mega Drive shoot ’em ups and games like Streets of Rage 2 today.
Super Nintendo/Super Famicom
The SNES had some amazing games released in 1994, Donkey Kong Country was the one that literally blew everyone away as well as some more Super FX powered games like Starwing, Vortex and Stunt Race FX were still selling like hot cakes.
Neo-Geo Advanced Entertainment System
The Neo Geo was still hugely popular in arcades and if you could afford the £200+ price for a new game then you too could have it at home.
The Neo Geo was the ultimate console for arcade fans as it was well…arcade perfect! It also wasn’t just home to fighting games either.
