Bis
One of the more unique bands on the list Bis garnered a serious cult following in the mid to late 90’s.
This was largely attributed to their extremely unique songwriting coupled with their DIY attitude.
Formed in Glasgow, Scotland they consisted of Manda Rin on Vocals and Synths, Sci-Fi Steven on Vocals, Guitar and Synths and finally John Disco on Vocals, Bass and Guitar.
They fused Lo-Fi Indie with electronic beats and Punk guitar to create a unique sound that quickly grabbed people’s attention.
They didn’t have much chart success but everyone knew them and they released 14 singles, 13 EPs and 6 albums.
Their biggest hit came in 1996 with “Kandy Pop” although perhaps their most famous song is the Powerpuff Girls end theme.
