Event Horizon (1997)
Lots of us snuck in to see this one when it came out and none of us got what we expected.
In fact, many of us wish we hadn’t as what looked like a great sci-fi movie turned out to be a dark and twisted piece of brutal psychological horror.
Some dubbed Event Horizon as Hellraiser in space and it’s easy to see the resemblance but it’s so much more than that and frankly, we would say it’s far scarier than Hellraiser.
A Spaceship that had been lost in a black hole suddenly re-appears and a crew are sent to investigate,.
Unfortunately, it hasn’t come back alone as it’s now controlled by forces the human mind can barely comprehend. Unfortunately, these forces only seem to inflict pain and suffering, joyous.
Event Horizon also had a brilliant cast including Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix, Contagion), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, The Piano), Joely Richardson (The Patriot, nip/tuck), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, Black Hawk Down) and Sean Pertwee (Dog Soldiers, Gotham).
You’ll never want to go to space again.
