Ringu (1998)
The Japanese Horror industry is probably the finest when it comes to chilling you to your very core.
When Ringu first appeared in the UK it had people scared senseless, not just because it was creepy as hell but it was unlike anything we had seen before.
A mysterious VHS, That’s a videotape for the younger readers out there, is investigated by a reporter and her Ex-Husband.
It is rumoured that if you watch the tape you will die seven days later, what the rumours didn’t tell us is that you would be killed by a monstrous unknown force that would crawl out of your TV or make you kill yourself in shame.
Of course like all good movies it was remade with a small degree of success in Hollywood in 2002 but the original is infinitely better.
