Byker Grove
Byker Grove helped pave the way for PJ and Duncan (ahem, sorry… Ant and Dec) to become household names. Like Grange Hill it covered many social topics of the time and was thoroughly entertaining.
Bonus points for you if you still shout out Byker Grove when on a trampoline in your back garden, if you haven’t you should do at the next opportunity.
Home and Away
The BBC had Neighbours so ITV had Home and Away which was perfect as Home and Away was on just before Neighbours so we got a double dose of Aussie soaps. It’s now on Channel 5 if you’re want to get back in to it and like Neighbours that was incredibly easy to do. It has sun, sand and drama!
