The Sega Saturn whilst not the most successful console to come out is now seen as a bit of a cult classic with its unique games and power house 2D visuals that has helped make it an in demand (and sometimes very expensive) console to collect for.
Solve The Mystery
A new indy game has just come out for the classic 32 Bit Sega console and luckily its free as well.
The game is called The Lighthouse of São Bento do Oeste and is a detective visual story where you get to ask questions and solve the case of the missing lighthouses and was created during a game jam where the theme was ‘Mystery’ and ‘Break-Ups’ and this game was the result.
The Lighthouse of São Bento do Oeste whilst simple looks charming and comes across as relaxing to play.
It even has some new and awesome looking artwork you can use to create your own Saturn box and it even has a seven page full colour manual.
Here’s The Lighthouse of São Bento do Oeste in action which is made by Neuromage Studio.
As you can see it looks like a relaxing game to play and whilst it probably doesn’t tax the hardware much at all.
However, to see a new game for the Sega Saturn is something to marvel.
Hopefully this could be the start of a new era of Sega Saturn games especially as its now easier to get home brew games up and running with CD drive emulators like ‘MODE’
To grab the game and print off the case artwork and manual head on over to the developers website for the game here.
What do you think of The Lighthouse of São Bento do Oeste? Will you be getting this and other Sega Saturn releases as they come out?
