Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat – Fatboy Slim & Riva Starr Ft. Beardyman
This shouldn’t work at all. In any way, shape or form. somehow, though, it transpires to be the very best track I’ve ever heard. I mean, yes, Fatboy Slim has a knack for making stuff that no-one else would even attempt totally work, but on the face of it, this has no redeeming features whatsoever.
It’s essentially just a monologue of some hippy chemical head recounting his evening’s adventures, and yet when given ‘the full-fat boy’ treatment it becomes a layered, motive, bass heavy, rolling juggernaut of funk. Absolute bliss.
