They certainly don’t make them like they used to. Long before we had the ability to fast forward through ads on catchup or skip them entirely through streaming we had to endure adverts on the TV. Luckily there were some great ones that we didn’t mind watching when they came on.
Some were catchy and funny and we all had our favourites. We take a look back at some of the classic UK TV adverts that we still remember and loved seeing when they came on back in the 80’s and early 90’s.
Scotch Video Tape
Who can forget Archie the Skeleton the star of the Scotch video tape, this was before the world was introduced to Sky+ and record-able TV. When you would be racing through your video collection to find a blank video or a old video to record over. Kids of today… you don’t know how lucky you are!!
Vitalite
A memorable advert for the Vitalite spread saw the singing sun and sunflowers singing their hearts out ‘Wake up in the morning wantin’ some breakfast. What am I going to put on my toast? Ohhhh Ohhhh Vitalite.
