Escape From New York (1981)

Ox Baker in Escape From New York

One of the greatest cult movies of all time, Escape From New York starred Kurt Russell as Snake, a bank robber tasked with rescuing the President from Manhattan, which is now a maximum-security prison.

This is an all-action piece of dystopian retro-futuristic mayhem and we love it.

As Snake makes his way through the carnage he encounters many undesirable inmates and guards.

Two of these are classic wrestlers WWF’s Bam Bam Bigelow and NWA, WWWF and ICW legend Ox Baker.

Predator (1987)

Predator Jesse Ventura

Arnold Schwarzenegger has a good history of working with wrestlers and predator is no exception.

Predator once again sees Arnold teaming up with Jesse Ventura who has a great supporting role as Blain.

His hard as nails marine who constantly chews tobacco in every scene really stole the show and was infinitely memorable.

the fact that he ran around the place with a Gattling gun was also a nice touch.

It’s hard to imagine Predator without Jesse Ventura which just shows what charisma and screen presence he had.

They Live (1988)

They Live

They live is a classic video nasty in which a drifter finds a pair of glasses that lets him see things that he can’t normally see.

When he wears the glasses he can see that Aliens have taken over the world and he has to convince everyone of what’s happening.

This is classic John Carpenter and stars “Rowdy” Roddy Piper as the lead character.

They Live was probably Piper’s biggest movie role and it is rightly remembered as a horror classic.
