Hurrah! Ghostbusters is back where it belongs in the upcoming Ghostbusters Frozen Empire movie.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is back in New York where it belongs and looks set to be a blast, an ice blast that is.
What’s Ghostbusters Frozen Empire about?
The movie follows on from the 2021 Afterlife movie and sees the family up sticks from Oklahoma and return to the iconic firehouse where it all began.
They join forces with the surviving original members of the ghost busting team who have set up a secret lab that is designed to make catching ghosts even easier.
Naturally, they unleash an ancient artifacts powers called the Death Chill and have to save the city and its inhabitants from the icy grip of death.
Who’s in the movie?
The movie even has the original casts thorn in the side who is none other than Walter Peck where William Atheron will reprise the role alongside Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson.
This is alongside Afterlife’s cast including Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard and Carrie Coon.
The original teams no nonsense receptionist, Janine will also be played by the original movies actress Annie Potts.
Even British comedian James Acaster will have a role in the movie (which was filmed in London) although that hasn’t been revealed yet as to how big or how much he will be in the film.
When is Ghostbusters Frozen Empire coming out?
The hotly anticipated movie should have originally come out in December 2023, however due to the writers strike it has been pushed back to March 29th 2024 just in time for the Easter holidays in the UK and US.
For now we have the freshly released teaser trailer for the new movie that Sony Pictures have just released. Check it out.
Which streaming service will Ghostbusters Frozen Empire be on?
It looks like both Netflix and Disney+ have snapped up the Ghostbusters content for their platform and Frozen Empire should be winging its way to one these platforms alongside all the older movies. We can only hope that the classic 80s cartoon after school series The Real Ghostbusters is included here too.
