Anthrax
If anyone ever tells you that Metal is all doom and gloom simply point them towards Anthrax. The third member of the ‘Big Four’ in this list, Anthrax never took themselves too seriously. This allowed them to experiment and produce some of Metals finest moments. When they wanted to be they were the heaviest around but they never failed to put some light into their shows. Technically brilliant and one of the first Metal bands to experiment with Hip Hop, working with Public Enemy in the early nineties, they paved the way for the Nu Metal sound that would later emerge. They released a string a great albums in the eighties and below is Medusa taken from their 1985 album ‘Spreading the Disease’.
