More Happy Hardcore Anthems of ’96

Wow, just wow! We weren't expecting the response we had on Social media with our original Happy Hardcore Anthems of '96 (see it here) and just cherry picking 10 anthems that got slammed out at raves up and down the land really isn't enough. It was that big a year for Happy Hardcore! So we thought we take our fellow Retroheadz suggestions and few others that we really, really wanted to put on the first one and give you a second part. We reckon you'll want to dig around for your old tape packs after this because the smiles will keep on coming when you listen to these awesome anthems (in no particular order we might add) Timespan - Shout Now (Hixxy & Sharkey Remix) What better way to start part 2 then with this juicy track. Big kicks and awesome breakdowns equals ravers paradise! Bang the future - Body Slam Seriously funky bassline hardcore and an all round giant slab of awesomeness from the Great British Techno label. Force & Styles - Apollo 13 Apollo 13 is powerful, from its serious and pad filled build up to its piano breakdown. This Force and Styles track is a work of art and proof that you can also stomp to some serious yet totally uplifting, non vocal Happy Hardcore as well. The production levels on this as through the roof as well. Absolutely timeless! DJ Stompy - I Believe That moment when the main melody from Aha's classic 'Take on Me' erupts mid track can never, ever be beaten. A glorious surprise to an already awesome track. DJ Kaos - Hold Me Now DJ Kaos' version of the Chicago classic is just that, an absolute classic that will have you stompin' and singing along in equal measure. If Happy hardcore Karaoke is ever invented we reckon this'll be one that everyone will request doing. Ham, Demo & Justin Time - Here I Am What a choon! Seriously uplifiting vocals and some seriously fun riffs and breaks over the kickdrum as well make this a fun filled and utterly sweet track to rave to. The B side to this is the awesome 'The Big Spill' which is worth a listen to as well! Bass D & King Matthew Feat XD - Like a Dream This Dutch stomper was a korker back in the day and you know what, it still is! Midas - Take it From the Groove An early '96 track which has the sub bass elements that summed up '95 mixed in with early '96 chunky kickdrums, seriously bouncy before the hand in the air breakdown too. You may have forgotten about this one, now...you haven't! JDS - Higher Love (Slipmatt Remix) This awesome Slipmatt remix is another legendary track that even today will make any raver get up and have it. Chunky kicks, catchy build up riff and that piano and vocal infused breakdown makes you want to put your hands in the air! Hopscotch - Steamtrain This track is so much fun, pure cheddar and you know what, who cares! Forget choo choo, more like choon choon! Ravers Choice - Techno Wonderland Where would we be without this classic track, it feels like Christmas with this one, even if its the middle of June.
