The Blair Witch Project – 1999
The Blair Witch Project was scary because people actually thought it was real. This was due to the fact that is was documentary shot footage that was supposedly found after “three student filmmakers disappeared in the woods near Burkittsville, Maryland whilst shooting a documentary” On the hunt for the Blair Witch Heather, Mike and Josh camp it out and film their every move. It’s scary, jumpy and will have you believing that it is all real.
Saw – 2004
Where it all started for the Saw series, and where first got to meet Jigsaw himself. Compared to the newer ones this film is quite mild. To survive this film you need to be good at puzzle’s, your fate lies in the hand of how clever you are.
Hostel – 2005
Another gore fest film for you. The first installment of the Hostel trilogy is about a group of backpackers that stay in a hostel in Slovakia, looking to do a bit of traveling and have a good time. Shame they had to bump into the psychotic businessman who ends up capturing them and torturing them, this is not a film to be watched by the fainthearted.
