A Nightmare on Elm Street – 1984
One, two Freddy’s coming for you, three four better lock your door, five six grab a crucifix, seven eight Gonna stay up late, nine ten never sleep again…. We all know the Freddy song that was stuck in our heads after watching this film. How many of us didn’t want to go to sleep? Too afraid that Freddy Kruger was going to kill us in our dreams. With his red and green striped sweater, brown hat and his bladed right glove, Freddy was the man we didn’t want in our nightmares!
Hellraiser – 1987
Hellraiser or Pinhead as he was also known was one of the leaders of the Cenobites who basically travel to earth through a puzzle box to harvest human souls. Once the puzzle box is opened Pinhead is summoned to torture his victims and as anyone who has seen the film will know, his favorite method of torture usually involves hooks and chains…Nice!
Braindead – 1992
What better way is there to get rid of a load of Zombies then with a lawnmower and that’s just how Lionel deals with the Zombies invading his home in the comedy horror flick Braindead. After the poor guy’s mother gets infected by a bite from a deadly Sumatran rat monkey which then turns her into a zombie. She certainly becomes the mother from hell and as she keeps escaping the basement that Lionel has locked her in and biting the neighbours, the resident’s of the town soon become Zombies there selfs.
Scream – 1996
