The Amityville Horror – 1979
Now if there is a house that you definitely do not want to stay in its the house at 112 Ocean Drive in Amityville, New York. When the Lutz family buy their new home where a mass murder was committed the year before, the new family are plagued by strange happenings in the house, slime oozing from the walls, strange noises and a room full of flies. The film was actually based on a true story and if you have $850,000 spare then the house is currently up for sale… We think we’ll pass on that one.
The Shining – 1980
‘Here’s Johnny’ is the famous line from the movie that the deranged writer Jack says to his poor wife whilst peering through the hole he has made with his ax. Jack is the caretaker of the Overlook hotel which he and his family will be looking after whilst it is closed over the winter months. Jack’s son Danny starts to see strange things, (we all know what redrum spells backward means) and Jack starts to go mad as the demons in the hotel haunt him.
Friday the 13th – 1980
Now, what kind of crazy people decide to reopen an abandoned campsite? The campsite is Camp Crystal Lake a place that has a history of murder. It ‘s definitely not something that is top of our list of things to do! Jason Voorhess is the name of the madman with the hockey mask is this horror flick who haunts Camp Crystal Lake and he will slaughter anyone that he encounters.
Poltergeist -1982
This supernatural horror film is an 80’s classic, and if you’re a child of the 80’s then there is no doubt that you haven’t seen this film. The cursed house in the film sits on a native American burial ground and strange things to start to happen. The film focuses mainly on the children, the young Carole Anne starts communicating with voices inside the television? Her brother Robbie get’s attacked by a tree. Surely the only thing to do is call the Ghostbusters.
